Italy

Italy is a very good country foe ecotourism, because there are a lot of places where we can travel, which are prepare as ecotourism and don't harm the environment. Some of them are:

San martinho organic farm - In the Beautiful Tuscan countryside, in Siena province, 800 meters  from Montepulciano's old town walls, San Martino organic farm and Villa are placed in a privileged location  that embraces the whole valley, the surrounding hills and a breathtaking view of the town. The Villa has been recently restored according to the rules of bioarchitecture, using exclusively natural and ecological materials. Breakfast is prepared only with home made or local organic products after which you can head outside to the  Biolake (bio-swimming pool), free of any water chemical products, where you can dive or relax under the secular olive trees. San Martino's Farm produces saffron, extra virgin olive oil, honey, cereals and grass.

La cerqua - Our picturesque property extends over 250 acres of beautiful hillside surrounding Pietralunga. Vibrant golds over the fields contract with the aqua blue of bubbling streams and the dark green of woods and meadows. According to ecological farming methods, we grow cereals and potatoes, and horses and sheep as well, while for the wood management we are inspired by Natural Forestry.

Torri superiore - The medieval village of Torri Superiore (XIII century) is a little jewel of popular architecture situated in the Liguria hinterland, near Ventimiglia (province of Imperia), a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea and the French border. The Torri Superiore guesthouse is open year-round and offers accommodation in single, double and multiple rooms with or without private bathroom. Ample dining rooms, terraces, meeting rooms, a small library, workshops, and storage rooms are also part of the guest centre. The restaurant offers carefully prepared meals based mostly on local and organic produce. The cuisine is normally Mediterranean, with little meat, some fish, and plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit.

Sextantio - alburgo diffuso - Once a decayed and forgotten village, Santo Stefano di Sessanio has now been restored and resurrected by an eccentric entrepreneur bewitched by its crumbling buildings. Created as a result of the proprietor’s love of the art and culture of this mountainous area, Sextantio – Albergo Diffuso represents the first attempt at completely restoring one of Abruzzo’s ancient villages for residential purposes. With 28 rooms, the minimalist yet simple chic bedrooms are noted for the finer details extended to the furnishings, using local craftwork tradition.

Azienda Agricola Casa Nova - Casa Nova is a traditional farmhouse, accurately restored, with a splendid view of the Farfa Abbey, where the simple and cordial atmosphere and the enchanting landscape gives life to an oasis of peace and tranquillity. At about an hour from Rome, conveniently reachable by train, there are possibilities for numerous excursions of cultural, artistic and naturalistic interest.

Antico uliveto - The Agriturismo Antico Uliveto is situated in the very heart of the Chianti area, between the beautiful city of Siena and the famous medieval fortress of Monteriggioni, nestled in one of the world's most fascinating countryside. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, the Agriturismo is part of the Gardinia Organic Farmhouse (Azienda Agricola Biologica Gardinina), where the Taddei family has been using only organic methods for its production of wine, olive oil, honey and grains for the past ten years.

Podere La Casellina - il podere is situated in the marvelous hilly landscape of Tuscany, in between Chianti and Valdarno. Bordered by the chestnut wood of the Chianti Mountains on one side, and the line of oaks, cypresses and olive trees, on the other, the podere opens up on to the little valley below: from the rooms guests can admire a beautiful view of San Pietro al Terreno church and Pratomagno.

Monte pu - Halfway between the Cinque Terre and Portofino, and 45km from Genoa, this is an idyllic holiday spot. Two hundred hectares of greenery, rich in wildlife, Mediterranean flora, with a view of the sea and with a unique beauty, this is l'Azienda Agricola Monte Pù. Locanda della valle nuova - Our charming small country house lies in a 185-acre organically run farm, in sight of the town of Urbino (recently registered in UNESCO's World Heritage List), nestling in a landscape of gentle, rolling hills, rich in wild flora and fauna, where ancient oaks are still protected as they were in the times of the Dukes of Montefeltro. Always keeping in mind the philosophy that "…one should tread lightly on the earth…", we grow organically our own wheat, fruits and vegetables and raise our cattle, pigs and poultry with 100 per cent natural feed; from our fresh we make our own bread and pasta, jams, wine and traditional home cooking, all as flavourful as they are healthy. Il borro - Il Borro is an act of faith that takes us back in time. This Tuscan village built with patience and will hundreds of years ago has not so much been untouched by the hand of man since, but caressed by it. Imagine if you will an early morning at the Borro, the rooftops just visible through the ribbons of mist, the surrounding woods reflecting a golden aura, hearing your first steps on stone - a sound swallowed by the city every day.

Il pino - Around the natural oasis of the Valle dell'Inferno, in the heart of Tuscany between Florence and Arezzo, in an enclave of organic farming amongst rows of Malvasia vines, organic strawberry plantations, meadows of medicinal herbs, olive groves, in an unpolluted area is where the historic house named Il Pino was renovated. Renovated respecting the style of old country farmhouses, even the furniture has been restored in keeping with the original rustic Tuscan style known as "arte povera", but with all modern comforts including internet. The estate accommodates guests to revive old customs and experiences of country life in the year 2000. A top farm holiday, "5 ears", (like a five star hotel) where our customers are guests in every respect.
